My Son Pinnocho cast list

Hi, long time no see. Well, time for a chatch up on what's happened: Tuesday classes went by uneventful, but recent weeks have been spent leading up to this moment. The past couple of days were the days of My son Pinnocho auditons, and today the cast list was posted. I have at least three parts I have to go through, I mean think of all of those costume changes! There were at least 100 people who auditioned over the course of three days, but due to space only 40 made it in. I hope those people come back for our other shows, we are always welcoming new blood. Me personaly my audition was my personal best, mainly because this is the first speaking part I had in forever and I got praise from the director. Oh, by the way did I mention my Mom is assistant director? The director isn't biast at all, and she is no stage mom that I can gaurentee. I have to be an automaton, fox mother and a magic tapper, or tap chorus in plain english. Monday is our cast read through, so wish me luck!

Tuesday Class

Last night was my weekly Tuesday class, which ran on until 8:30pm. In our vocals portion we began learning 'One short day' from the most awsome modern musical ever Wicked. We got some newbies yesterday also, including three boys!!! One of our main issues at Metropolitan Performing Arts Acadamy is our lack of boys (hint hint).
After vocals, was dance. Our choragrapher filterd out our now huge class so only 9 people, including me suprisingly, were left to perform both of our tap numbers. I was given a song and dance solo in a song from the disney musical The Little Mermaid called 'Positoovity'. My friend got the lead in Throuroughly Modern Mille 'Forget About the Boy'. I'm scared out of my wits since they're both tap numbers and I've only had months of training, not even a year.
Inbetween classes our creative director gave some announcements about our upcoming show My son Pinnochio, which is holding auditions next week, and gave us some hints about what he is looking for for certain parts. Of course every girl is going for the leading lady The Blue Fairy, me I'm gonna consider it lucky if I get to be a marionnette. Whatever happens I just want to be able to go up into the flyspace abouve on wires.

Welcome one and all!

Hello, welcome to my new blog! If you have ever attended a musical or any type of stage play and wondered; 'How on earth did they ever pull this off without tearing at eachothers necks?' or the like, well, take it from a girl who knows, it wasn't easy. I have personaly experienced pros and cons of being involved in theatre and only one instance where the cons heavily out wieghed the pros. Here any of you curious types will find out firsthand what happens behind the curtain. No names will be mentioned to protect the privacy of my fellow players and no personal stuff, im not a cruel person. And now...Let the show begin!
